Bilinguale Deutsch-Englische Kita

Die deutsch-englisch bilinguale Kita "Berlin Kids" liegt im Prenzlauer Berg, einem Kiez, geprägt von Vielfältigkeit und Multikulturalität. Aus einer kleinen Elterninitiative entwickelte sich durch den immensen Bedarf an bilingualer Kinderbetreuung  eine Kita mit derzeit 84 Kindern, betreut in vier altersgemischten Gruppen und einer Nestgruppe durch jeweils zwei muttersprachliche Erzieher/innen.

Die großzügige Raumkonzeption und ein großes Außengelände bietet den Kindern vielfältige Spiel- und Rückzugsmöglichkeiten.

Ein motiviertes und fachkompetentes Team gestalten den Kita-Alltag vielfältig und sorgen für eine familiäre, fröhlich-entspannte Atmosphäre. Dabei sind die Kinder Ansatz- und Ausgangspunkt, ihre Partizipation am Kita-Leben ist ein Schwerpunkt unserer Arbeit.

Pädagogische Schwerpunkte

• Bilingualität: Deutsch & Englisch werden zu gleichen Teilen als Begegnungssprache angeboten
• Situationsansatz als Grundlage pädagogischer Arbeit
• individuelle Betreuung der Kinder
• in Gruppen mit 18 Kindern (Nestgruppe mit 12 Kindern)
• in altersgemischten Gruppen
• durch jeweils eine/n deutsch- & englisch-muttersprachlichen/n Erzieher/in
• bilinguale Vorschularbeit ab zwei Jahren
• interkulturelle Bildung und Erziehung durch besondere Projekte  (Internationale Woche/Begehung interkultureller Feiertage)
• ganzheitliches Lernen durch Sport, künstlerisch-kreative Angebote, Musik, soziales Lernen und naturwissenschaftliche Bildung
• strukturierter, dennoch flexibler Tages- &  Wochenablauf mit besonderen Ritualen als Orientierungshilfen und Partizipationschanchen für die Kinder
• Bereitstellung gesunder & ausgewogener Mahlzeiten
• aktive Elternarbeit für die optimale Entwicklung der Kinder

ENGLISH VERSION

"Berlin Kids" is a German-English bilingual preschool  located in Prenzlauer Berg, a neighborhood that is characterized by cultural and ethnic diversity.

Due to the high demand for bilingual child care "Berlin Kids" has grown from a small parent participation child care to a preschool with 84 children. There are 4 age mixed groups and one toddler's group, each having a native English and German speaking teacher. The spacious floor plan and large outdoor playground offer plenty of space for children to run and play. The daily routine is organized by a very motivated professional team who provides a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Educational priorities

• The curriculum is based and planned according to the daily needs of the child or entire groups.

• bilingual preparation for school from two years onwards
• individual attention for the children due to small age mixed groups (18 children) and toddler's group (12 children)
• cultural education through special projects (international week/ celebration of international holidays)
• a balanced and flexible schedule with special routines where children don't feel rushed or fatigued
• a developmentally appropriate program is ensured through sport, arts & crafts, music and science projects
• children learn through hands-on experience and teachers allow ample time for experimentation
• a healthy and safe environment is maintained, nutritious meals are provided
• parental involvement is welcomed and teachers consult with the parents about their children's needs and progress
